“Barbera” Room

It is believed that the Barbera vine originates in Monferrato, where already in the thirteenth century some documents talk about fields planted with “de bonis vitibus barbexinis”. Other sources consider that this vine originates from Oltrepò Pavese. Recently, some research done on the DNA showed common traits with the vine Mourvedre. “The” Barbera, this variety traditionally is suitable for women it is widespread in Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna and in various regions of central Italy.
